Haiku

                                                 autumn damp–
                                                 old leaves composting
                                                 on the back lot

                                                 the cool of evening–
                                                 a hint of spiced apples
                                                 from a house

                                                 piles of dried leavaes
                                                 hardened by last night's frost–
                                                 more crunch in my step

Thanks Gillena. This was taken at a local farm market and garden center. I can't take credit for the arrangement, only for the photo.

The brief time I lived up north (NJ) as a child, I loved autumn - when we'd go to a local farm for apple cider and doughnuts. Thanks for sharing autumn warmth and color with your lovely photo and haiku.

Thanks, Janet. Autumn and the change of seasons are part of why we stay here in this area.
