Tanka

                                          the elderly widow
                                          prefers red instead of black
                                          her grief hidden;
                                          she has gentlemen for tea
                                          who sometimes stay the night

:)

Enjoyed your post, poem and photo. Are you a tea drinker too?

P.S. Tried to post earlier, but it didn't seem to go through (if you see the other post, feel free to delete it).

Thank you, Bill and Janet.

I am a tea drinker and have an assortment of different tea on hand-- mint, green, pomagrante, Earl Gray, breakfast tea, orange spice. We are not far from the Harney tea shop and tasting room which is great for trying new flavors.

As an Englishman, I too love tea, Adelaide. One can read a lot into this elegant post?...

I don't remember how this tanka came to me. I might have been thinking of a short story plot. You can make of this story in miniature anything you like.
