 thunder and lightening

another cup of coffee

at the diner

                                                  a quiet rain–
                                                  content to lie awake
                                                  and listen

                                                  beads of mist
                                                  from the umbrella's spokes
                                                  alternating drops

                                                  my umbrella
                                                  flipped in the wind–
                                                  uncertain days
