Summer

SUMMER HAIKU

the farmers' market-
most dirt clings

The Country and Abroad, September 2007

spattering rain...
in the woods ten minutes
and still not wet

Dragonfly, April 1974

sun on my back-
all the flower pots
arranged just so

Adelaide,
These are wonderful. I can even feel the warmth of the sun in the last poem. I see you have been writing for many years. You have perfected your art!

Thank you. We have, at last, had a few honest summer days, sun and no rain.

And I hope you continue to enjoy many more beautiful and sunny days. I am in California and it is a rare occurrence to get rain in the summer. Many would welcome it!
