                                                            trade winds

                                                            through the local bazaar

                                                            looking for a fan

 

                                                            an egret bobs

                                                            across the open lounge

                                                            rustling palm fronds

 

                                                            power outage

                                                            stilling our chatter

                                                            the luminous reef

                                                            

                                                            clear blue water—

                                                            refracted sunlight scatters
